When sposored link runs out of funds it reverts to regular (from the manual)

What will happen if recip linker desides to sponsor the link and then stops paing will his/her link be reverted to regular? Is there a way to revert links to the link-type they had when they purchased the sposorship?

regular --> sponsored --> regular
recip --> sponsored --> recip

I think it is important to have that other ways it looks like punishment for stopping sonsoring for reciprocal linkers.

Sponsor Member Group - is it possible to have sponsor membergroup by category?

Meaning - member buys promotion to sponsor group and his/her link gets placed on Category page they bought sponsorship for (their link is in). I understand I can do it manualy buy setting sponsorship levels/member groups (or can I?) and manually place sposors but can it be automatic somehow?

Perhaps I am confused on how Membergroup Promotion actually works?

Actually it reverts to its original type, not necessarily regular. That's what the origtype field is for, manual entry was probably written before that.

member buys promotion to sponsor group and his/her link gets placed on Category page they bought sponsorship for (their link is in).

That doesn't make any sense to me. It sounds like link type sponsorship. Why would you use member sponsorship to promote links?

link promotion gives priority placement in the links category.

member promotion sould give ability to promote member (link submitter) with higher pover and display his/her link across all subcategories within their category for example - ideally.

I was thinking to setup link promotion to pay-per-click and membership sponsoring for flat fee advertising across the category.

am i out of luck?

It promotes the member -- not the links. No, a member sponsoring will not change their links.

can i put something like that:

links,time,5,descending, membergroup={sponsored}, catid={CATID}
{LINKTITLE} {LINKADMIN}

of cause i need to use correct sintax for membergroup={sponsored}, catid={CATID}
this is just for example...

What i am trying to achieve is link promotion will give promotion to link within the category and member promotion will give promotion over cats including subcats or several cats. i does not make much sence for you, perhaps...

are you glad i am back?

Your fictional toplist doesn't really make any sense. Member conditions don't apply to links toplists.

You can give the promoted member group the ability to promote their own links, or you can just make a feature suggestion.

That's the purpose of the sponsorship system as the manual entries explain. Are you having trouble with it?

so i can create the "sponcor_member" link type and let sonsoring members promote their links to that link type?.. will be a bit "hoopy" most of the people will expect to have everything done for them, since they are paying... I think I will stick with my feature suggestion.
