When you submit Admin Panel -> Settings -> System, what's the specific error it gives?

Do you have IP restrictions on the FTP server preventing access from all but whitelisted addresses?

I remember you had a strange hosting permissions issue before that had to be solved by your host. Are you sure this isn't the same thing?

You can submit an upgrade request if you like.

we have two other directories installed and everything is fine there with automatic upgrades
they are located
http://links.pokrov22.com
http://directory.pokrov22.net

and there are no problems on those one
only on
http://directory.hostpokrov.com
where it gives the problems

and i can tell you it is not the same thing as it was before those issues were resolved
where the permissions took places

Since it's on 5.0.37, maybe there was a bug in 5.0.37. http://scripts.webmastersite.net/releasenotes50.php?format=html lists several upgrade fixes since then, though they appear to be for low memory limits. Could be the wrong error message is displaying. Do a manual upgrade (download the .tar.gz and see readme.html within it).

Admin Panel You need to supply FTP info at Settings -> System Configuration in order to use automatic updating. If you have supplied that info, it's not correct.

Continue

what can you suggest?

That error suggests that the extraction of the files to the temp directory is the problem. What's your memory limit? There are listed bugs in your version which could prevent extraction with a memory limit under 10M so you'd just have to do a manual upgrade to a version not affected.
