Forum posts won't delete completely

I'm having trouble deleting posts on my forums site. When I go to the Edit page for a post and select delete or hard delete, the content of the post is gone, but the title of the post and the author's name remain on the page. How can I get rid of these posts completely? Thx.

The ability to view deleted posts is a usergroup permission. If you want to make undeleting impossible you can check the hard-delete box.
