Presumably you're using HTML for the non-counting types which doesn't include the hit counting javascript call. Copy and paste from the default link bit template.

Hm, forgot the javascript is autoinserted. That can't be the issue. My details page hits get counted on localhost. There are no options to exclude specific types from counting on details pages.
Tested viewing the details of a link on your site, and as you can see it went up to 6 views: http://www.idealchristmasgift.co.uk/christmas-gif... . But I'm not sure what type that is. I can't test more because it's excruciatingly painful... blue on red is just evil, especially with a large bright LCD like mine.

Still can't duplicate. Do you count when the submitter is viewing as well?

Paul, I am still having problems with this. My new site, http://www.freewebbargains.com is not counting the hits either. I have it so that it counts admin and linkowner
