Login using Safari: WSN Support

Does anyone else use mac/safari and have trouble logging in with 2.12 I can never log in using safari ( I could with 1.11) yet using explorer I can. Another quick question.... Now Im trying to use 2.12 can anyone explain in the admin ->system config what the field "Directory URL:The location of your images directory." means...... What images folder is this referring to? Theres already an attachments field below it but I dont know what this one refers to. Also

It means the image gallery itself. Like http://yoursite.com/gallery
