No, I have good reason to believe that asking current customers to pay an annual fee for what they expect already will just make them mad and lead to lots of negative reviews which would kill the scripts forever. The non-mandatory upgrade fees upset enough people. I get a lot more revenue from people paying me to do rush feature additions -- which can cause all sorts of bugs that are impossible to anticipate or locate in testing -- than I'd ever get from people paying me to delay a release. I could spend 30 years doing testing, and the eventual release would probably be almost as buggy as the releases are now, because I would never think to configure things in the pattern others do and I wouldn't have their exact PHP/MySQL configuration. What would help would be to have a community of beta testers. |

Paul, Could it be possible that my Spanish language translation that I did submit you to the forum script, to be considered in payment for the LaTex plugin ? (I did spend many hours on this...) Maybe I can also make a review on the current translation. Daniel. |

Since I don't expect to get any financial benefit from the translation, or at least it'll take 5 or 10 years to find that customer who'll be persuaded by it, I can't consider it as though I were getting some. (Of course, if you think you can sell to spanish speakers then you can earn $70/sale from the affiliate program or do co-branding.) |
