Might someone be able to help me figure out what I messed up so that the Directory Last Updated date doesn't show?

Thanks!

I just realized that the code doesn't really show up when viewing the source through a browser. Here's what the top part of the template looks like after I modified it:

<!DOCTYPE HTML PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD HTML 4.01 Transitional//EN"
"http://www.w3.org/TR/html4/loose.dtd">
<html>
<head>
<title>{PAGETITLE}</title>
<script language="JavaScript" type="text/javascript" src="{DIRURL}/templates/default/javascriptheader.js"></script>
<link rel="stylesheet" href="{DIRURL}/templates/styles/{STYLESHEET}.css" type="text/css">
<link rel="alternate" type="application/rss+xml" title="{SITETITLE}" href="{DIRURL}/rssfeed.php">
{MAINMETA}
{CATHEADERINFO}
</head>
<body>
<div class="adbanner">{ADBANNER}</div>

<p align="center"><a href="{DIRURL}"><img src="http://www.webmastersite.net/forums/templates/images_default/logo.gif" border="0" alt="{SITETITLE}"></a>
<br>
<br>
<br>
<p align="center"><b><font color="#003399" size="3">{TOTALLINKS} Links in {TOTALCATS} Categories<IF {SWITCH_HITS}>, with {TOTALHITS} clicks</IF><IF {SWITCH_COMMENTS}> and {TOTALCOMMENTS} comments</IF><IF {SWITCH_MEMBERS}> by <a href="memberlist.php">{TOTALMEMBERS} members</a></IF>
<br><font size="2">Directory last updated {LASTUPDATE}
<IF {SWITCH_MEMBERS}><br>Welcome <a href="memberlist.php?action=profile&id={NEWESTMEMBERID}">{NEWESTMEMBERNAME}</a>, the newest member.</IF>
</font></b></p><br>

Try regenerating totals (admin->maintenance->regenerate counters).

I'm not sure what happened but this is working now. The only thing I can think of is that I regenerated and then made a new change in the directory and now it shows.
