My host said I would not be able to access the .htaccess file on a windows server. Thus the 404 errors I get from the mod rewrite. Yes I have tried everything in your forum. But is this true. Is anyone else insalled on a windoews server?

You cannot use url rewriting with a windows IIS server -- unless you know how to make windows rewrite urls, as is supposedly possible with such things as http://www.isapirewrite.com/ (in which case you would have to translate the htaccess file).

Thank you for the response. My host seems to think the mod rewrite will work after I point the dns to that server. I am currently working on the new web connecting to the server via ip address. If after changing the dns settings the mod rewrite doesn't work I will look into your suggestion.

Thanx again.:)
