I was hoping to be able to validate new users and messages before they are posted to the guestbook. However, in the settings, when I select Require validation by admin for registration type and yes to Notify admin via email of items pending validation, and yes to notify admin of all new entries, I only get an email if there is a new entry. Is there no way to preview/approve the entries before they are posted?

You may not get an email, but do they still show on the validation page?

Their message gets posted to the guestbook and I don't get an opportunity to approve or validate it. This is a MUST for the guestbooks that I use.

Maybe you're confusing member and entry validation. If I recall, you need to go to manage usergroups to require validation of entries. I can't say I've heard of anyone being unable to require validation of entries, but if there really is a problem it's been out of development for several years, is released under a permissive license, and I'm unlikely to find time to look into it unless someone pays me to.
