Hello Paul, The forums shall have always visible the Buttons for: - Post New Topic - Post New Forum (if option enabled per usergroup) This even though the visitors have not permissions to Post. Having the buttons always visible makes the forum more intuitive. So when they click on post new topic for example, the login template appears... Daniel |

Do you have Admin -> Settings -> Switches -> "Clickthrough to denial page" turned on? Seems like the same thing. |

I can manage to edit the templates and solve it but I comment this as it´s a mayor difficulty for people approaching to the software for thefirst time. Tested WSN FORUM 5.1.45 Edit: { TOPICCANPOST } variable is 0 for guests not allowed to post even though posts are enabled for this topic. So maybe the solution will be to correct the behaviour of this variable. Edited by peumus on 09/03/10 - 6:26 PM |

Re: guest posting, tested and it shows the button as expected. I'm not aware of any per-topic way to enable guest posting if the guest usergroup is in general denied though, which is what you seem to be suggesting... Update WSN Forum templates to apply submission denial. In the last post you're talking about the 'view thread' page. Submission denial didn't apply there in any script. I've edited the templates to apply it. |
