Hi, Paul: I recently started to install the WSN Guest 1.11, which uses Unicode utf-8 so that the Mandarin can be easily translated and displayed! There is an ERROR found in member's profile update page, where you can select an avatar to upload. However, when I tried to upload 2 small pics (30x30 and 90x90 respectively), it resulted in the following ERROR message: Warning: copy(1a339f2f8da3d53f929cdddd3bd57d5c.gif): failed to open stream: Permission denied in /home/xxxxxxx/public_html/xxx/functions.php on line 433 The image file could not be uploaded. Please check that it's an allowed file type and is below the maximum allowed size. I've already set the [attachment] folder to 777 when I installed WSN Guest, and I think I've carefully followed your instructions from the scratch. Would you please kindly help me to get it sorted! Cheers! |

Permission denied would indicate that either the attachments directory file path is set incorrectly or the chmoding doesn't work (a few servers require 755). |

Hi, Paul: You are right! I didn't set the file path yet! I think it'll be better to add up a line in README that after installation, remember to configure the [ manage settings ] in the administration panel and complete the configuration before running the WSN Guest!!! Cheers! |

I have read through all relevant posts (I think), checked my file permissions, image names, etc., and I still cannot get the avatar's to display at all. http://loudmouthedliberal.com/links I have to manually go in and edit the file name in order for it to display. Any suggestions? Edited by LHaase on 01/02/08 - 9:08 PM |

That isn't a guestbook, it's a links directory. Reading the instructions for a completely different program than the one you're using will cause things to not work right. It's also a version which is 3 years obsolete, approximately 80 releases behind the current. |
