I would like to have my site so that submissions cannot be made to a top level category. Anyone got any ideas about how to do this?

This is a rather simple thing to do. When you make/edit a catagory you can edit who may submit to it. Scroll down towards the edit catagory when logged in as admin and see all the options.

You can set each switch per user group on any catagory you want.

ircurt,
Thanks, I had not noticed that. This script has so many features and options it will take me a while to learn to use it.

I editted the top level categories so that no one should be able to submit to them but that did not work. Anyone can still submit to the top level categories.

Thanks again ircurt! It works great now that I figured out what I was doing wrong.

Note that admins may still submit to top level cats after you make that edit... again that is dependent on other settings elsewhere in the admin. I recomend making it that admin may "break rules" so that you can put your favorite sites there or perhaps links to places you get paid (sponsors).
