What I am after is a centralised management. One click and delete all identical links...

You ensure the category you want it in is selected in the category field. In the secondary categories field you select any other category you want it to appear in, holding down the control key to select multiple. If you later edit or delete the link from the main category it will edit or delete it from ALL the secondary categories you have selected.
