I am not sure if this is a genuine bug but if I use a category name as:

WidgetX, WidgetY & WidgetZ and try to view page 2 I get:

No such content exists. The link you are following seems to have been incorrect.

Under Search Engine Optimization Settings I have the following 2 settings:

spaces are replaced with - (hyphen)
ampersand symbold are replaced with and

then for Special URL used:

WidgetX-WidgetY-WidgetZ

instead of the original:

WidgetX, WidgetY & WidgetZ

Have I missed something?

Upgrade to the current version.

Don't know what you mean by "special url used" in the SEO settings.

Here's the same topic raised here: www.webmastersite.net/forum...ed-by-modrewrite-8026.html

I am not sure if having a category as (example):

Gifts, Gadgets & Toys

would push the abilities of WSN Links to handle mod re-writes?

Commaed categories are rewritten numerically instead of with names, but that was broken in 5.0.28 if I recall.

You need to specify what your problem with autoupgrades is.

There's no such admin panel option, but there is an option on the edit category page that I guess you might mean. If so, I see that option isn't working properly... fixed for the next release.

When I log into the Admin panel I always get "Your WSN Links 5.0.28 is up to date."
Before I would get a button I could click on the upgrade... that has seemingly gone.

As for the special URL you have to log into Admin then:

Additions > Add New Items > Add Category > (7 rows/blocks down) you will see;

Special URL:
If you want this category to use a different URL than the
rewrite scheme normally generates for it, you can type it
here.

Check your servertest.php. Does it say that your server fails for anything?

Additions > Add New Items > Add Category > (7 rows/blocks down) you will see;

That would be the user-side add/edit category that I mentioned above, accessed via alternative admin panel path. Doesn't work until next release.

Paul, I have this problem on a couple of my sites. So far have just upgraded manually.

Servertest.php says that it fails for Remote URL functions, and goes on to explain "Your web host has disabled both fopen URL wrappers and CURL's ability to grab remote content. This makes automatic updates and all functions involving the checking of remote pages impossible."

BUT my other sites are fine and pass the servertest.php, and yes they are on the same server, so this message is surely incorrect.

It runs a simple download test to determine that, so it's certainly correct that the particular site's fopen/curl is disabled in some way to prevent it from downloading. Get your host to check it out.
