links not showing Michelle I have regular, recip as my link types, haven't changed that. Just turned on debug... Jul 02, 2008 - 1:52 PM Paid Scripts Support
links not showing Michelle I just upgraded one of my sites from 4.1.45 or .47 (I forget which) and somehow messed up my templates. I uploaded the previous versions and started modifying them to get them back up to date, but I'm having a problem with the links in the categories not displaying. I'm getting this error:

Warning: mysql_num_rows(): supplied argument is not a valid MySQL result resource in /home/xxxxxx/public_html/ice_cream_shops/databases/mysql.php on line 27

Most of the page is displaying, but where the links should be it says
{RECIPLINKSBODY} {REGULARLINKSBODY}. (I'm using [INSERTFILE=linkbit]
to call in the links)

I tried adding &debug=1 to the URL but it didn't give me any additional information (maybe because the category URL is rewritten?)

problem viewing subcategories after rege Michelle Well, I regenerated again and this time it seems to be working, thanks. Jun 19, 2008 - 1:11 PM Paid Scripts Support
dynamic default meta tag? Michelle It would be nice to be able to set up the default meta tag so that it's more dynamic; i.e., include the category name where specified.

<meta name="keywords" content="custom {CATNAME}, customized {CATNAME}, customize {CATNAME}, hand made {CATNAME}, made to order {CATNAME}, hand crafted {CATNAME}, bespoke {CATNAME}, individual {CATNAME}, personalized {CATNAME}s">
<meta name="description" content="Find custom-made, hand made, or personalized {CATNAME} in New York City.">

Show off your links Michelle Here's the site that got me started with WSN Links:

Directory of sites offering custom-made, hand made, or personalized products. Includes clothing, shoes, jewelry, electronics, computers, furniture, toys, art, wedding items, and more!

problem viewing subcategories after rege Michelle I bulk-edited most of my category names and then regenerated them, and ever since I've been getting the following error when trying too view subcategories:
No such content exists. The link you are following seems to have been incorrect.

If I go to the parent category and then visit the category, it works. But going to a subcategory of that category from the category page (confusing, I know) doesn't work either. I haven't changed the SEO path, and there's no correlation with the category names I edited. What could cause this?

error when installing Aquatic theme Michelle I wanted to check out the new Aquatic theme, so I tried to install it from the Theme Installer page but got this error:
Fatal error: Cannot instantiate non-existent class: tar in /home/*****/public_html/admin/themeinstaller.php on line 32

My ftp and wsn links account information was filled in, and there's a file named tempname.tar.gz in the temp directory that seems to be the right size.
I then tried downloading it from this site and using the form on the Theme Installer page to upload it, but got the same error message.

500 server error Michelle I began upgrading another copy of WSNlinks tonight, and it went more or less smoothly until I started changing some settings and switches. I had just turned off the calendar and some other item (can't remember what) and suddenly began getting 500 server errors. My error log reports:
/home/*****/public_html/resources/.htaccess: RewriteRule: cannot compile regular expression '^?$'\n

I checked the .htaccess for extraneous spaces, but none were readily apparent. I tried deleting .htaccess, but the 500 server errors persist.

problem with URL rewrites after upgrade Michelle Thanks Paul, I found the spaces and it works again. Now to redo my template...

I figured out my account, too. BTW, kudos on the automatic upgrade feature!

Here's what I get when I visit your support form though:

problem with URL rewrites after upgrade Michelle Ok, the PM is not on it's way after all... you've disabled private messaging for your account, and your email support pages aren't working. Also, I can't seem to log on to my customer account here; it's not recognizing my email address or password, and I can't even find my account on the member list. *puzzled* Apr 27, 2008 - 10:09 AM Paid Scripts Support

Do you have a blank space at the end of your format for rewriting help items, or is that the forum's autospacing?

Didn't find one.

Then there's the space between k and s here:
search.php?rewritten=1&filled=1&action=filter&whichtype=link
s&tagscondition=like&tagssearch=|$1|

Please re-post using the code tags or send by email so I know if the spaces are post formating or bugs.

PM on the way.

Paul wrote:
What are all the values on your Admin -> Settings -> SEO page rewriting section? Just post a screenshot.

See attachment; it seems to happen any time rewriting is turned on or off, so I'm guessing there's a problem auto-writing the htaccess. I've tried changing the permissions (666, 755, 777) but no luck.

Unrelated: I don't think your stylesheet is up to date, it looks odd, seems to be missing a lot of elements. Those should add automatically on upgrade so I'm not sure how they can be missing.

Fixed.

"We recommend you load this web site using Firefox" is a bit irritating, by the way... I happen to like Opera.

It's just the default 404 page. All the more reason to get rid of it wink
