| Vote.php screwing my hosts server | wizardofchips | to me that is nothing different than a couple of spiders crawling my site at the same time 3 or 4 users are and they are saying that it is overloading their server |

| Vote.php screwing my hosts server | wizardofchips | ive been having problems with vote.php overloading my hosts server... here is cut from our support chats 2005-04-28 10:48am by admin - Hi, Your site was not hacked, but a single script was malfunctioning. The problematic script is /directory/vote.php If one tries to execute it(like in the case several minutes ago), the script starts looping and overloads the server. We have currently disabled this script and have unsuspended your account. We have also set resourse limits for your account. | Display search results in long or short format | wizardofchips | I want to give my visitors the option of displaying their advanced search results in either a short(list) or long(directory) type format. I understand how to call custom templates and have made both the list type template and the longer directory type template. Im sure it will have to be a custom field included into the advanced search template but what kind of field ? what do i tell it to do if selected? any suggestions?? |

| wizardofchips | I want display a category that contains only my link partners or reciprocal links. So Ive created a category and selected reciprocal as category type. I havent added any links to it yet because im getting this: This is what the problematic area of the template looks like during parsing: Line #427: Rate | Report | E-mail | Bookmark Line #428: | Add to List Line #429: | Details | Comments ({LINKNUMCOMMENTS}{LINKNUMCOMMENTS} Line #430: Line #431: 1 && 1 == {LINKOWNERID}) { ?> Line #432: Get voting code to place on your site Ive modified the displaylinks.tpl for my other category link displays but for my recip category im using the default displaylinks.tpl that came with script as template. Ive just renamed it to showrecip.tpl and specified it as template in the add new category when I was setting my recip category up. any suggestions?? |

| wizardofchips | I backed up the database using the link in the admin panel and then restored it and everything is fine except when I submit a new link I get these errors... Parse error: parse error, unexpected '&' in /home/wizardo/public_html/directory/classes/onelink.php(1036) : eval()'d code on line 1 Parse error: parse error, unexpected '&' in /home/wizardo/public_html/directory/classes/member.php(846) : eval()'d code on line 1 also when you browse the directory anywhere there is an apostrophe [ ' ] there is [ & ] ampersand any suggestions? |

| wizardofchips | You mentioned aliasing earlier in a post. Looking at two database entries for eacb link now I do see a field named alias. In phpmyadmin Ill try to explaing what I see best I can. Say I add a link and it goes into my database as LINKID "38" and if I look a bit further down that row I see that the LINKALIAS "0". BUT somehow there has been added a new row with LINKID "39" and and LINKALIAS "38" and everything except id and alias are identical to row 38 Did I explain that so it could be understood? Hope so. This is happening to every link I add. How can I stop this? If I delete either one of them the link doesnt show up in my directory. |

| wizardofchips | Was in phpmyadmin and noticed that all my links in the database are duplicated. Everytime i make a new link instead of putting one new entry into wsnlinks_links it puts two of the same thing. Is this normal? My database is twice as big as it needs to be . |

| wizardofchips | I would like to have categories that have custom fields that arent going to be relevant to other categories, the display of the category will be completely differnt, adding/editing links will be different and searching will be differnt. So here is my problem. I need to know how would I get the script to use say... Category 1 uses: advancedsearch.tpl edit.tpl displaylinks.tpl Category 2 uses: advancedsearch2.tpl edit2.tpl displaylinks2.tpl and so on.... there are probably other templates too that would need to be modified but I think you get the picture. how feasible is this? some of my categories are going to have a completely different set of custom fields WIll this have to all be done in the same templates with a bunch of statements? I think templates that correspond with categories would be easiest. Please advise |
