{NAVIGATION} in detailcomments | Starship-Trooper | Hmm, I tried to get rid of that part in the navgation tpl, but then "> ExampleSite > Comment on ExampleSite" went away, what was not my intention. Only "> Comment on ExampleSite" should go away.. |

{CATADMIN} | Starship-Trooper | As long as I'm logged in as admin, I should be able to see the edit.gif behind my categories and links. I can't, i only see the placeholder (alt) text. This can be found e.g. in displaylinks.tpl <a href="{CATURL}" class="categoryname">{CATNAME}</a> ({CATNUMLINKS}) {CATHASNEW} {CATADMIN}<br /> In {CATADMIN} there must be some path to the image "edit.gif" if i understand correct. May it be there's still the old path to the images dir before V4.1? Can I check/change that somewhere? Same might then be with some other variables.. |

LINKCOMMENTSREAD | Starship-Trooper | In my detailcoments.tpl I can find:(<IF {LINKCOMMENTSREAD}>{LINKNUMCOMMENTS}<OTHERWISE><b>{LINKNUMCOMMENTS}</b></IF>) This decides wether the number of comments will displayed bold or not, depending if I have read the comments. how does WSN determine {LINKCOMMENTSREAD} ? I could not reproduce a case where the number was displayed non-bold (only when the number was 0). Neither did work: logged in nor as guest.. |

detailscomments.tpl | Starship-Trooper | For detailscomments.tpl, I hope I'm right when I say that either this div: <div class="detailsborder"> or this div: <div class="details"> is missing a </div> in the end. Edit: as far as I can see, this is also in your newest release, 4.1.23 |

{NAVIGATION} in detailcomments | Starship-Trooper | Main > Category 2 > ExampleSite > Comment on ExampleSite how do I generally get rid of the last entry? (> Comment on ExampleSite) It's disturbing to me.. I guess it must be something from {CURRENTLOCATION}, but if I remove that from NAVIGATION, also the part before that ( > ExampleSite) goes away.. Cheers, Starship-Trooper |

Problem with German Umlaut | Starship-Trooper | Oida, you may additionally check your (mysql?)database settings for correct charset (and collation). some useful information concerning charsets can be found here: http://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/ISO_8859-1 blog.koehntopp.de/archives/...360-Zeichensatzaerger.html blog.koehntopp.de/archives/...eichensatz-Grundlagen.html I use latin1 as charset & latin1_general_ci as collation (if you only use german characters, you might also set collation to latin1_german1_ci or latin1_german2_ci). hope I'm right. but what I have to add: I still did not get Categories to work which have Umlaute in their name. WSN always tells me there's no such category Cheers, Starship-Trooper |

Template Sets | Starship-Trooper | For my state of customizing right now, I think it's also not possible for me to adapt it, but your thoughts might more be helpful for new customers. But I think there's work to do : If you take a look on these pages: http://www.phpldtemplates.org/ http://www.freephpldthemes.com/ http://www.phpld-templates.com/ etc etc you will see that's _one_ of the main points which lets webmasters go for PHPLD - it's quite easy for them to choose between hundreds of templates/themes. So they say, "Hey, that's approx. what I would like my page to look/work like, so I go for it!" WSN strength is, it's way more complex and customizable, more & better implemented features, but it might need more effort and needs more time to get used to it. Not so much mainstream, I might say. I chose WSN, because yours was the only one I could do everything I want with, and your support & speed in adding things is gorgeous. I knew I could customize, but it's still lots of hacking around in the templates, but for me, that's ok right now. Also, I didn't like PHPLD's selling/service structure.. So, putting it together: still more themes & templates as starting point for potential customers (take some of these sites' themes as example, or look at http://www.avivadirectory.com/ for a nice layout example), and a bigger web-wide community (easy said - but phpld seems to be everywhere, while wsn-based material/info/templates is mainly on your pages); that would totally do the trick. I think some of these points are not possible, as PHPLD does not seem to be a one man show and it took them some effort to be that popular, so now they have the folks doin lots of templates/advertising for them. I think you'd need someone to do that theming stuff for you.. Bad your design-support went off. |

Template Sets | Starship-Trooper | Besides easy temlpate editing (as far as I remember) the big bonus of PHPLD is, that there are so many people using it, and creating & offering so much templates. It's so many that almost everybody will find something which fits his/her needs in a way with a little bit of modification. WSN Links, by now, has one main look (I mean not only colors/images change, but also design/layout in total). So the main part would really be offering lots of alternatives how a linkdirectory could look in WSN, as a basis for users. I know you need us to create them, as u don't have the time to do it alone.. but anyhow, I think if the WSN template collection gets filled, that would rock. Concerning your Immitation-set: Will it be totally new built templates, different structure from what we have now, or is it just your attempt to adapt the look of PHPLD, without chenging internal tpl/php structure? |

Console popping up when commenting | Starship-Trooper | Hi. hmm, I'm afraid no. Writing a comment won't send any emails as far as I can remember. And on other templates which try to send emails (e.g. report), such a console doesn't pop up. Additionally, I never recognized such ting in earlier installs of wsn. Anyhow, maybe somebody else can recognize this? |

Console popping up when commenting | Starship-Trooper | I just made another test. It pops up while submitting a comment, tested in opera, IE, and firefox. here's a screenshot, it's the windows cmd.exe Please could u check again if there is sth that gets called.. I guess you can't see it on another OS, and on my system it appears only very very short, was quite hard to get a screenshot to see what it was.. -and: definitely it did not appear in V4.0.30, I would have recognized it |
