If I remove that </div> I get a validation error saying "Unclosed element div." That final </div> closes the detailsborder div. Perhaps you're missing either <div class="detailsborder"> or <div class="details"> at the top?

You have one too many closing divs on both details.tpl and detailcomments.tpl
On the very last line of those templates.
