Could you give some more information about 3.14?

Mainly curious whether or not I should upgrade from 3.13 (attachment tree turned on)

What's "Subject: 3?"

Hmm seems it's the comment title, automatically filled in when making a thread with title 3.14. Weird.

I am trying to get up the nerve to do the upgrade.

Anyone successfully upgraded to 3.14?

My WSN Links is working so well I am hesitant to touch it. : )

3.14 is simply bug fixes, though it also includes the chmod utility and a repair/optimize tables option.

Is the repair/optimize, the same functions I can do directly in myPHPadmin on the mysql database?

Exactly the same as phpmyadmin (neither is any more direct than the other, since it's the same query either way).

The backup method has now been changed in 3.14, so that it actually makes it possible to do automated backups on a large database now without breaking the site (since it runs as a background process shell command), but this leaves safe-mode people to use phpmyadmin for backups from now on.

Excellent - no more file size issues. I'm now able to backup my database via the admin panel instead of having to do it through phpmyadmin.

I upgraded this morning and everything looks good.

In the upgrade ReadMe it says

TO UPGRADE FROM 3.12: top

Upload to overwrite all files except your /templates/ and /integration/ directories.
Overwrite the /admin/ subdirectory of your templates directory.
Upload the new badrequest.tpl template.

Is this refering to the two Admin directories:

\wsnlinks\templates\default\admin

and

\wsnlinks\templates\multilingual\admin

Should we overwrite both of these?

I do not have a \templates\admin\ directory.

It says "Overwrite the /admin/ subdirectory of your templates directory." It does not say "Overwrite the /admin/ subdirectory of your /templates/ directory." It seems to confuse some people, but I don't know any better way to phrase it. As it says, overwrite the /admin/ subdirectory of your templates directory, whichever one you're using. If using multiple, overwrite them all -- but clearly you aren't using both english and multilingual. For an english-only install your templates directory is /templates/default/, for multilingual installs it's /templates/multilingual/

There are several minor problems:
- setting debug mode to 'supress all errors' kills everything
- the chmod utility is faulty
- when you have too many links marked as suspect, trying to show them times out the page

Those are all fixed now in the revision I've just uploaded. (Files to overwrite: commonfuncs.php, admin/chmod.php, admin/linkchecks.php, and the /admin/linkchecks.tpl template in your template set's directory.)
