Validation reject not working

I have a problem on one directory. Whenever I try to reject a submitted listing I go through the usual process and then it tells me 'No such content exists. The link you are following seems to have been incorrect.' and the link remains pending validation. What could the problem be?
Are there customized admin templates? Check if there's anything bolded in the admin cp templates area on the manage templates page, if so the template could be out of date.
Is this the standard (checkbox) rejection or the "custom reject" link?

I can validate, I just can't reject listings.
