I have it set so that people cannot vote for their own links. If I submit a link, and then try to vote for it, it tells me I've already voted for the link, even if there are 0 votes. Shouldn't it be giving a different message, such as one stating that you cannot vote for your own link?

Ideally it should. I'll jot that down. But it'll only work if you're logged in, since otherwise the IP prevention is generic.
