Hello Paul, something is wrong on my link directory, I am using 4.0.1.4.
the counter will display (-) minus, please check "Health" category on attach file, and the "412" below, it display the wrong number (sometimes -), this happen after I add/update link, but this will fix after "regenerate counter", but it will happen again with another number after add another link.

*** 412 links in 94 categories. Directory last updated 03/24/07.

I don't recall ever seeing random negative numbers like that.

There were no new pending links involved as a trigger either? There aren't any crons that update category totals so I don't see how that's possible. Site inspection would be useful here, though if you just gave a url it might help some.

hi Paul,
No pending links.
The url is http://www.freechatndate.com/links/
I have been run regenerate counter, repair/optimize, generate html and some directory have been fix, but Health still (-4).
I am going to do regenerate counter again for the next few hour, it maybe fix the problem for a while, so please goto my site to see the "live" directory.
thanks.

Hi Paul,
Did you check my link directory yet?

How about if I reinstall the script, do you think this will fix the problem?

I can't see what the issue could be, but I'll have it recalculate the total on submission and see if that helps.

How about if I reinstall the script, do you think this will fix the problem?

A reinstall won't change anything if you organize and configure things to end up the same in the end.

do you mean if I run 'emergency panic options' it maybe help? because all the configuration that I have been made will restore to default value?

No, I mean don't touch anything. I don't see how any setting could possibly be involved, it has to be the category structure or some server detail. Hitting "emergency panic" in versions 4.0.0-4.0.19 will simply destroy your installation, forcing a reinstall, due to a bug.

Hi paul,
I changed the options below to the default value "NO", 2 weeks ago I make it "YES"
admin -> settings -> links :
"When links expire, should they be deleted instead of merely hidden?"

it's maybe this is the problem, because the counter goes normal until now, since I make it 'NO' yesterday.

Hi Paul, the counter seems to be fixed by that value "NO", I don't get any problem with the counter until now.

I see, every hour it's re-deleting links which were already expired long ago, and thus decrimenting the total for the category. Fixed.
