I just ran a test for you in 6.1.26 and it held the listing for validation after the sponsorship was applied. Are you sure you're testing this as the same usergroup you configured the permission for?
i check the group permission settings, they are all set to Needs validation when sponsored for both guest and member groups, but sponsored submissions are still auto-approved.
Is there a way to amend the codes to force sponsored submissions need validation?
This isn't what I'm seeing, so it must be due to some other setting elsewhere on your site, though I can't imagine where so http://www.wsnlinks.com/inspection.html is probably the only way to find out.

I upgraded from 6.0.30 to 6.1.26 recently but found that all sponsored submissions are auto-approved. (it wasn't like that before.)
I have already put a tick on each of the following stetting under Manage Usergroups
Needs validation
Needs validation when sponsored
but sponsored submissions are still approved without my review.
any idea what I can do to fix it?
