The main one shows the most recent message on the bottom for me. Works right in Opera 9.1, Firefox 2 -- though I see it doesn't send messages in IE 6.
I see the degraded chat actually is the one that shows the newest at the top. Will see if I can fix it, but the trick which scrolls to the bottom may not work in degraded browsers.
Got scrolling to work in Opera but not Firefox. Seems like anything related to the chat can only work in one browser at a time, any change to support one breaks the others.
They fall out of view whenever the time limit is up, as set at admin->settings->chat.
I managed to get the regular chat to work in IE6, FF2, O9.1 and Konqueror. Added option to choose the order. When ascending the degraded chat becomes pretty annoying to use, especially in Firefox, unfortunately. Outside of Opera 7/8 users (not sure it 8 was affected) and some older konqueror/safari versions it doesn't look like many people need to be degraded anymore, luckily.

How can I control the order of the posts on the chat room?
Right now, the main chat room has the most recent post at the top, while the degraded chat room has the most recent post at the bottom.
I'm not sure which why I want them to go, but I'd like them to both be consistent with each other.
